I’m Trent Potter, Owner and Lead Consultant of TP Kinetic Tech.
I started TP Kinetic Tech because I saw a growing gap between the speed of innovation and the people using it. My journey in customer service began in 2007, and over the nearly two decades since, I’ve dedicated my career to high-level customer service roles, including extensive experience within the tech industry.
With years of professional experience right here in Marshalltown, I know that technology is only as good as the confidence you have in using it. My goal is to transform your digital experience from a chore into a strength, providing the same level of security and professional care to your home or small business that I would expect for my own family.

1. 1-on-1 Coaching & Support
Tech Confidence Session | $125
A 60-minute deep-dive tailored to your specific questions. I can teach you how to master your devices, navigate the internet, manage email, and use other basic digital platforms—perfect for mastering a new app or organizing your digital life.
Quick Fix | $65
A 30-minute rapid troubleshooting session or quick help for minor tech frustrations.
Policy: If the fix requires more than 30 minutes, you may upgrade to a Tech Confidence Session by paying the remaining balance. However, if there is a following scheduled appointment, a hard stop will be required at the 30-minute mark and a new session must be scheduled.
2. Digital Moving Day
Mobile Edition
Single Device: $75
Two Devices: $120
Each Additional Phone: +$40
Includes migration of data, contacts, and photos, plus app reinstallation and layout setup.
Computer Edition | $149
Migration of files, browser setup (bookmarks/passwords), and software reinstallation for 1 computer.
3. New Computer Setup | $199
Complete out-of-the-box setup for your new PC or Mac. Includes checking for all system updates, account creation and configuration, and installation of your essential software. Also includes a short consultation to walk you through the new device and its key features.
⚡ Service Add-on: Physical Device Setup | +$50
Includes unboxing, cable management, and hardware connection.
4. Secure & Sound | $199.00
Complete digital security audit. Includes review of current digital security, two-factor authentication setup, and review of cloud backup. Includes an introduction to the managed services subscription (Password Manager, Cloud Backup, and Malware Blocker).
5. Smart Home Essentials | $199
Setup and integration of up to 5 smart devices (Cameras, Thermostats, Smart Speakers, or Lights) with your central hub (Alexa/Google/Apple). Includes testing and a brief "how-to" for the family.
Additional Devices: +$30 per device.
⚡ Service Add-on: Physical Mounting | +$50 per device
Note: Existing wiring only. Relocating devices requires a licensed electrician.
6. New Homeowner Bundle | $350
The ultimate "Move-In" tech setup. Includes installation and integration of up to 12 smart devices with your central hub.
Additional Devices: +$20 per device.
